the avoid_posting list is a tidy sum, and many of the artists on there have been so for years. years happen to be long, and people can change their minds; it might be good to ask them if they still want to be on the list a year or two after they've been added.
i wouldn't be the one to do this, and I'm not familiar with artists who are on the list. but if it's a nice message long after they've forgotten about asking to be on the list, they might just decide to be taken off. why would they? i suppose for the same reasons they wanted to be put on.
some problems might arise if an artist, after agreeing to be removed from the list, quickly decides to be put back on it, wasting effort. it would be similar to the effort wasted to have an artist you uploaded a collection of ask to be on the DNP after you uploaded it.
