Topic: The Transvestite Tag

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

What should we do with this tag? In this day and age, when we're using cuntboy, dickgirl, girly and crossdressing, is it a necessary tag? Wikipedia defines is as follows:

Wikipedia said:

Transvestism (also called transvestitism) is the practice of cross-dressing, which is wearing clothing traditionally associated with the opposite sex or gender. Transvestite refers to a person who cross-dresses; however, these are clinical terms that carry potentially negative connotations or implications of mental illness. Cross-dresser, a word that more accurately describes the behavior and avoids clinical or pathological implications, is the preferred term.

I'm seeing it used in a couple of ways, for example:

Girly male:

Crossdressing:

It is, at this time, not a widely used tag. Should we just manually clean it up and leave it be? Or alias it to another tag to prevent erroneous use in the future? If we're going to alias it, what to? crossdressing seems to be the most valid tag to alias it to at this point in time, based on the definition of the term and its current usage.

I made a wiki entry for transvestite, but I'm sure it needs polishing and if we do alias it to crossdressing, we should reflect that in the entry.

*edit* I'm going to start cleaning up the 20 or so posts currently tagged with transvestite.

*edit 2* There, all cleaned up.

Didn't even know it was a tag. There are the other tags which are probably better.

no, we can not replace these tags by an other because They denote things TOTALLY different.

an character can be girly without wearing female clothing
an character can be crossdressed without girly (muscular, large shoulders...)
cuntboy and dickgirl are totally different.

My point was that there are tags available that you can use to find the same thing, and likely get much better results. Sorry if it seemed like I was comparing the gender tags to transvestites, that's not what I was going for.

After rereading, I think we finally agree, I thought you wanted to do the opposite.

Okay, it looks like you're confused. I'm advocating aliasing transvestite To crossdressing, not getting rid of the crossdressing tag.

This is the way that you started your topic was disturbing ^^'

There are thousands of aliases that should exist on e621 but it is difficult to be validated (this is why I do not own that is very a time)
ok for transvestite To crossdressing
Create the alias, a new thread will be automatically generated.
You will see if it is accepted or not, if it is denied, this does not prevent the work can even be done manually.

I sort of wanted to get some feedback on the topic before I made the alias submission, but so far not many people seem to have feelings about it either way.

Most of the time, no one participates in this kind of subject.
Even administrators remain silent, except if it is denied, then you receive an email with a reason not always logical...
I think they do not like to manage aliases and implications.
If it were me, it would fly in all directions XD

In my opinion, I don't find this tag necessary on this site. Like what DK said,

We already have other tags that cover that tag
