Topic: Root Tag Suggestion: Binary_gender/sex

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I would like to make a suggestion of a new root tag that would be treated in the same way as tags like mammal or intersex that are designed as a pure catch all implication rather then a manual tag.
The reason i propose this is to make it easyer to find posts of groups or duos that are only intersex with just a single tag rather then having to add multiple tags to get the same search results.

As noted this wouldnt require much maintenance as it would be designed to automatically be tagged with all male and female as a catch-all tag in the same way mammal is implicated to species such as wolves and cats

feel free to also suggest a name for such a tag that you think works better.

You're suggesting a catch-all that only covers 2 tags.

-1

yes a new tag that covers 2 tags but would allow you to search for something with just one(2 with -solo) tag that presently takes 4 or more different tags...

I dont see how the number would matter considering intersex technicly only covers 3 tags(maleherm being added with herm)

yes, pretty much

I don't really see how this tag could possibly reduce the number of tags in your search terms by more than one in any circumstance.

Say you wanted to look for images with more than one intersex character:

-solo -ambiguous_gender -male -female

With this new tag:

-solo -ambiguous_gender -binary_gender

Only a reduction of one. Since binary_gender would be synonymous with ~male ~female and -binary_gender would be synonymous with -male -female, it will, as far as I can see, only ever result in a single term reduction.

Just saying, but this isn't Tumblr...

That has literally nothing to do with what we're talking about.

I am starting to get very annoyed with people who feel the need to inject that topic into every single subject. I suggest the next time you consider doing so, you ask yourself whether it will add even the slightest iota of value to the conversation, and if it does not, you should perhaps consider not bringing it up.

hmm... the inclusion of ambiguous_gender tag in the search parameters would certainly skew that thru i dont think those are a issue here considering the tag combinations that dont block AG that presently need to be used to get results that would be covered under this proposed tag for the most part dont seem to result in much clutter from the AG tag if anything notworthy at all...

Is -binary_sex really easier than -m -f?

1 tag vs. 2 tags on a account that can only do 5 search parameters at a time, kinda obvious which is better. Also wasnt aware there where shorthands for the male and female tags...

honestly.. this is a good idea, +1 from me. it would make searching a little bit easier.

If you want a single-term search that guaranteed intersex only images, intersex_only would be more successful.

>clawdragons

this is designed to compliment existing sex tags like intersex and ambiguous_gender. in propose as well as written format.

your suggestion would also be prone to people mistakes from people forgeting the underscore in the tag
