I've seen that there is some variations in the tags with what kind of English is used, with English US for some and others English UK

The most common example of this is the two different spellings of color/colour

E.g. The tag Watercolour and Multi-Colored_Hair

Is there a standard kind of English used for e621?

If not, should there be one?

Should it be in American English or British English?

Does it really matter?

This isn't really a big issue, but it has been on my mind for a while, so... yeah

We can use aliases to make it so either spelling works, so it doesn't matter.

Aurali has said multiple times that the American spellings are to be used.

Somebody should fix the tag implications so they are in American English

Just a guess, but I'm going to say that a larger percentage of users are from America than from England, might be close or by a lot, but I'm still pretty sure American English is the majority here.

As said, as long as it's aliased it's no biggie

This topic is set up for abuse.

The language is English, therefore the English spellings and usages are the correct ones to use, especially in a context where users from multiple countries are going to be reading. American and other versions of English are dialects.
