Topic: Every non inert creature count as a character?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

If a post features a non inert being portrayed more like a background element than an actual character, this being counts as a character?

e.g.

post #1038141 (butterfly in the left upper corner)

Should this post be tagged with solo or duo + solo_focus?

Updated by Delian

Cases like these tend to be the most notable when the character/s(?) in question are feral, and usually drawn realistically

Depending on who you ask, this is either a HUGE ISSUE or something not even worth looking into:
(I'm taking the middle option here)

There was a suggestion in the past which went something like,

If the character(s) in question aren't the main focus of the image, tag them (species), but not TOO detailed (usually gender)

Dunno how viable that would be as an official guideline/rule, in relation to twys
('tag what you see, but not too much')

here's at least 1 eg.

  • Main characters
  • Background characters
    • non-interactive characters
    • partially-visible characters
  • Natural characters

Well, that's my take on things. I would put the butterfly in the "Natural characters" category. Natural characters are ignored as far as character count is concerned.
