Topic: I keep seeing favorites I know I'm not hitting the favorite button on...?

Posted under General

I've recently seen two different favorites that I didn't do, images I hadn't even really looked at on this site yet. I could tell because I never have hit favorite on something without an up-vote with it, and these two distinctly did not have up-votes from me but did get a favorite each. These images were recently posted too. Is someone else doing this, or is some kind of glitch?

Updated

Do they look like familiar images?

When a higher-quality version of a post is uploaded, the higher-quality post is set as the parent of the lower-quality post, and then the lower-quality post is deleted (either one might be the new post). Ouroboros is set up so that when this happens, the favorites get transferred to the parent post, but votes don't get transferred in the same way.

I get this sometimes too. Generally, when you feel that way, there are two things you can do: first, F5 to refresh clears usually it up. If all else fails, check your favorites.

Not sure about the Dog-Bone one, but the other one with the tail in the feral's own mouth did seemed like it could be. When I looked at it a second ago under child posts there was just a black and white version that I have also not seen, but I may have seen a lower res colored version that might have been deleted like how you said. It would make sense so this sounds like it could be it, but whatever the case thanks for the reply.

Just found this on the larger colored image I had mentioned:
