Topic: What's the tag for breasts escaping / busting clothing?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

On some image boards the bursting_breasts tag refers to breasts that are escaping from shirts, popping buttons, or otherwise bursting out of clothing. (Not guro-related.)

e621 does not use this tag, and doesn't list an equivalent on the breasts page.

What's the tag for breasts that can't be contained in clothing?

What we've currently got is wardrobe_malfunction torn_clothing. A lot of them should also have exposed_breasts but don't. A single tag to represent what otherwise takes three sounds like a good idea.

So far as I know, there's no tag at all to search specifically for breasts overflowing from clothes, which I'm sure a lot of folks would really like.

If a new tag is made for this, it should be named so it's clear that it refers to breasts. Otherwise, it would be easy to confuse with poking_out or barely_contained. (Those would probably have to be renamed, too.)

One expression that's used to describe breasts in this context is "spilling out" or "spilling over". A quick google search suggests that modesty dictates these expressions be applied when undersized or incorrectly sized bras or other upper body wear expose "too much", but I was more familiar with the expressions being used to describe the moment breasts are "freed" from clothing. This is relevant to the discussion, but I'm not sure using these expression is the best approach for this tag.

I don't like the usage of "bursting" here because it conveys the wrong imagery to me, and so I have to do some mental gymnastics to overwrite my initial understanding with what's intended. At the least, make it apparent that the breasts themselves aren't bursting but are causing bursting and to what, which leads me to breasts_bursting_clothing.

Of the tags mentioned, I like barely_contained and wardrobe_malfunction. Those could be umbrella tags if more specificity was desired in describing what is barely contained or has malfunctioned. To that tense distinction, barely_contained implies that a wardrobe_malfunction hasn't happened yet but could or even threatens to occur. Thus, I imagine something like:

barely_contained as the umbrella for

wardrobe_malfunction as the umbrella for

barely_contained describes some body part (or limit the scope to genitals only) that could seemingly spill out of or burst its clothing unintentionally. Currently, barely_contained's wiki defines it for penises only, but why not move everything under barely_contained to barely_contained_penis and then implicate that and barely_contained_breasts (or cleavage), barely_contained_butt, barely_contained_pussy (is this a thing?) and whatever else to barely_contained? Could create an implication for barely_contained_erection to barely_contained_penis.

wardrobe_malfunction describes a broad set of clothing mishaps that are occurring or have presumably just occurred. The OP asks for a tag that falls under this umbrella of mishaps, and I would implicate whichever tag gets chosen to wardrobe_malfunction.

As with many early English image board tags, the ghastly-sounding bursting_breasts is a clumsy direct translation from Japanese, in which the equivalent phrase implies movement rather than explosion. I agree that it's not the preferable phrasing in English, as while we CAN use burst to refer to movement, we usually word that as "burst out".

However, barely_contained isn't quite right since it doesn't imply that the well-endowed are actively escaping / bouncing out of / damaging their clothing or otherwise fully exposed, merely that quite a bit is showing. It would apply to a plethora of scant string bikini images without clothing damage, for instance.

I think we should limit as many tags as possible to one or two words, which means we need a word to put in front of "breasts" et al that is easily understood to mean "escaping" or "impossible to contain" and isn't the unfortunate "bursting".

Possible answers:

liberated_breasts et al
unbound_breasts et al
uncontrollable_breasts et al
unrestrained_breasts et al
unstoppable_breasts et al

The last is my personal favorite mostly because it sounds kind of funny like the things are weapons.
