whats the purpose of these tags: img_(futaba) futaba_channel?? are they actually useful for anything or should they just be aliased away?

Basically, Futaba is 2chan. It's what 4chan was based on.
And since the 4chan tag was kept, I don't have good arguments for invalidating that one either.
img_(futaba) seems completely pointless, though.

The 4chan tag is used when the image actually relates to 4chan, like when the interface is included in a screenshot or the mascot is depicted in an image.

This doesn't really appear to be the case with futaba_channel, which only seems to be tagged with it because that's where the uploader found the images. Disclaimer, I don't know much about Futaba Channel.
img is a board on Futaba, so img_(futaba) should be roughly equivalent to our /b/ tag.
