If you're tagging someone with a Japanese name, should the name be formatted [given name] [family name] or [family name] [given name]?
Is there an agreed upon standard?

We're an American-based site, so given name first, family name after. We've had to swap some tags around as users tried to tag them based on the Japanese convention, but mostly it was just because users didn't realize that the Japanese would list family name first.

I mean, it really depends; if the character uses the japanese name order much more often/exclusively even when discussing the character in english, Hatsune Miku for example, use that name order. Otherwise use the <given name>_<family name>
Essentially just use the name that's most often used, in order to avoid confusion. In either case the other name order can just be aliased, so it's no big deal.

Wait so Hatsune isn't her given name? Dang. hatsune_miku has a hundred posts or so, so I guess there isn't a standard.
