There's over 600 posts tagged as humping, but I can't figure out why it exists.

It seems like a random mix of grinding, doggystyle, generic sex, etc. And it's mostly tagged for still images, where humping is only assumed instead of seen. Some might have speed_lines to indicate fast humping, but many of those would fit best under rough_sex.

I would've outright suggested invalidating or disambiguating it, if it weren't already aliased with hump (which might also get tagged for camels, judging by post #608015).

Is there any reason to keep this tag, or should it be sorted out and invalidated?

It seems so mixed at the moment that I doubt the tag can be saved.
Best to sort the posts into more suitable categories and then invalidate it.

Perhaps the tag should be implicated to dry_humping? Is that an active tag?

I think invalidating is the best option here.

Disambiguations work best when there's a clear and specific set of uses that just need divided/redirected. But the mixture of images under humping have no clear pattern, except being thematically related to sex somehow. And that's just too broad and vague to be much use as a disambiguation tag. And also too widely mixed to safely alias to most other tags.

Then you add the fact that most uses for the word "humping" have already been organised through better tags. And that even if we found a use that doesn't have a tag yet, we'd be much better off creating a new and more descriptive tag to use instead of trying to reclaim this hump/humping tag.

I think in the end it just makes sense to sort it out and invalidate it instead of trying to save it for anything.

You know, I do wonder how much the slang uses of "humping" and "hump day" etc as euphemisms for having sex helped muddy the use up?

Even worse when we bring railroad humps into this discussion. :P

"Do not hump. Humping this bridge has caused death and permanent injury."
...
I'm not sure if anyone would actually tag it by that meaning, but it's one more for the pile. It does seem unsalvageable.

That'd be fine by me, but the posts should be sorted to the proper tags first. If nobody else gets around to it, I'll do that after I'm done with a couple of other projects. In a few weeks.

Finally finished sorting this out.
The tag can be invalidated now... before it fills up again.

Can't use the alias suggestion tool, because of the existing hump -> humping alias.

There are still images under it, it seems. May be best to just turn it into a disambiguation if it's still going to be tagged.

Oh, those? I skipped the ones that were on my blacklist. Someone less queasy should clean 'em up.

There's only been one new post in ten days. I think it's safe to invalidate.
