It's worth noting that I just created the wiki page for magazine a half hour ago. The definition I used there isn't necessarily the definition we have to go with.

Oh. Well, mind explaining the differences (or similarities) so I can rephrase and (maybe) redecide? I might go make a feature thread about timestamps...

Huh? The rationale for magazine_cover implying magazine should be obvious, no?

Depends, are you looking for characters reading a magazine, or settings that would have magazines in them; or are you looking for just the characters depicted in magazines, IE Playboy or a "Natural Health" nudes with fruits and vegetables.

The settings depicted in a magazine cover are to advertise with characters. The key word is advertise, the character is drawing attention to the magazine (the contents therein). The setting of a magazine is more urban, you'd find one while on the toilet or in some diners. What a person is wanting to look for is a bit of a distinction.

You're overthinking this. A magazine is a magazine and a magazine cover is the cover of a magazine.

To put it simply, magazine is used as an object within a drawing or painting while a magazine_cover is basically a all encompassing style of pinup that employs text and sometimes borders to make the painting or drawing seem like a cover(a style not a actual magazine or component there of). This is why it cant be implicated. eg. in the image vs. the image itself
