So, question: The original term Alicorn referred to a half-elf/unicorn, but unfortunately the term got used to also describe winged unicorns. How do we tag this?

There's a bit of a problem I find. If we remove the aliasing of 'winged_unicorn' from 'alicorn', both of them would show when searching. And if we specify the tags like, oh I don't know let's say 'alicorn_(mlp)' and just 'alicorn', I feel that would complicate it too much, and I have no idea how well that would work. Newer users, or users who don't use the forums, won't know to specify the tags.
Bit of a pickle this is eh?

I thought the Alicorn referred to the horn of a unicorn?
We have unicorn_horn (Supposed to only be tagged on non-unicorns, so it now needs cleaning and tagging) and could easily add in an alicorn_(mythology).

Yeah no. The original term alicorn is the material composing a unicorn horn, similarly to how ivory composes elephant tusks.
In the olden days, scam artists would collect narwhal horns or other spiraled tusks / horns and pass them off as alicorn, saying they would promote health and long life.
The term was first used to refer to "winged unicorns" by Piers Anthony in his 1984 novel Bearing an Hourglass.
