Topic: Charr are not 'cuntboys'...

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I was told to bring this here, so here is it:

Tagging Charr has become a royal pain as they are incorrectly getting tagged.

‘Cuntboy’ tag: This is irritating to see tagged on Charr as it can be insulting to others and it brings the wrong message. Obviously, someone likes to troll and bias or whatever, but there are several other tags that are way better to use that the ‘cuntboy’ tag. ‘Flat-chested + female’ makes way more sense than ‘cuntboy’. If this tag system is based on what you see, then my interpretation of all cuntboys are female due to cuntboys just plain don’t exist and a person with vaginal genitals is female regardless of other features (aka: ‘what you see’ does not work; it's more of a personal interpretation). I feel this ‘cuntboy’ tag should only be used when the artist has specifically said that the image contains a cuntboy sense I am aware of a following behind it, but that does not mean just because a female without double-D breasts and unflappable to some should get tagged as such.

Tag what you see: I feel you should tag what you see if you are unsure, but if someone knows 100% on what is in that said image, they should have ruling over the people that do not as this means that it is incorrectly tagged. I have already briefly discussed this with an admin and it quite irritating that the ignorant tags overshadow the correct/knowledgeable tags. In most cases, the genders are binary (male/female) and should be a base on how things should be tagged if only 'unknown'. I feel this should be looked over by the admins.

As someone that is quite knowledgeable about Charr, I can go through every image here on e621 for Charr and tell you exactly what gender they all are. As an artist trying to get back into drawing regularly, it is quite discouraging to see my stuff getting tagged inappropriately and giving off the wrong message to viewers looking through my artwork.

If you want to discuss this here or in a private message, feel free to do so.

ITT someone fails to understand the tagging system.

The system, as it is, works.
It's not about perfect accuracy. It's about helping people find the kind of thing they're looking for.

Okay, but what about that 'cuntboy' tag? As stated, 'flat-chested + female' makes more sense than defaulting to 'cuntboy'.

Nothing in my post was an insult.
You don't understand the tagging rules and system, if you did, you wouldn't have posted this thread.

I didn't call you names.
I didn't say a thing negative about you.

I did mention that this isn't the first time that this topic has been raised.
Perhaps if you read some of the old threads it will help you understand:

Ok, we tag what's currently happening in the image, not what canon has defined for them. Except character names

Allow me to explain. It doesn't matter what you know about a species or character's gender. Allow me to make a list of the genders and how we tag them.

Breasts+pussy=female
No breasts+penis=male
Breasts+penis+no pussy=dickgirl
Breasts+penis+pussy=herm
No breasts+pussy=cuntboy

There are very very rare exceptions to these rules.

Please don't include that info, we do not tag her as female because of that.

It should be noted that, say, Mikhaila appears much more feminine than the Charr, who really don't have any indication of being female aside from their genitalia.

That's what the distinction between intersex and female really boils down to.

Thanks for the explanation.

However, I do not find a difference between this "Mikhaila" (which I have never heard of before) and Charr. They both have communities behind them, but treated differently?

I'd say that's because popularity and lore, resectively. Of which, little to nothing applies when tagging them.

Not little, just nothing.
Proper tagging does not use popularity, or lore to inform what tags should be added.

You may not have seen my last post yet, but really, compare these images

and imagine both characters wearing underwear. If they were, I wouldn't tag the first one as female, because it has the build of a male. So, since it has female genitalia, it gets the cuntboy tag.

Unfortunately, that seems to be the case in this situation. Character with 6 submissions can break the rules due to it's popularity within the fandom. Yet, pages of Charr... nope.

What about names, owners or franchises? There's the "little".

Mikhaila has way more than six images. https://e621.net/post/index/1/mikhaila Do you not know about the wiki, which is what I linked? The wiki only displays a small amount of images.

By these "rules", they should be tagged the same regardless of popularity.

Edit: No breasts + cunt = "cuntboy".

The rules are the way they are because it's the most efficient way to handle things.

I'm talking about the one where I showed the two images side-by-side and explained why one of them had been tagged intersex while the other had not.

Uh... not really. Do you go to a friend's house and do whatever you like? Well, you may. But you should'nt because you have to follow the house rules. Same applies here. On any other booru, that idea might be right, but on this one we focus on categorization and, as Durandal said and I quote

By what was said in this thread, even Mikhaila should be marked as 'cuntboy', but it is not.

It doesn't look like a female so why would we tag it as one? You think people searching for females would want that in their search results?

Just because the female does not have any breasts should not determine if the character is male or female. Female is a female/male is a male.

The lack of breasts has nothing to do with it. Of the few Charr images I've seen, many of the "females" have a very masculine facial and body structure. Basically, they look like males with vaginas.

And some Charr may have body structures close to male, but it does not change the fact that it is a female when you can clearly see a vagina. Not just for Charr, but anything - even people.

I see, so you're just a bigot trying to spread your prejudice to this website.
Yeah, we're not going to listen.

Another thought on this:

Let us say I search for the term 'female'. I am going to get many different submissions. Some I like, some I do not. If I wanted to narrow down the search, I search with a different term 'female tenticles' (for example, since I know there is a following behind that), but searching for just 'female' still gives me the narrowed search results, too. That should not be any different for Charr. If I search for 'female Charr', I would be missing results due to the umbrella term 'cuntboy'.

Regardless of what people want (opinionated) to find in their search results, their results should contain everything that they searched for. That's the point of narrowing a search.

I am on topic.
You argument is that if it has a vagina, it is a female.
That argument is solidly rooted in bigotry.
It is wrong, and absurd, and you aren't going to gain support here with that kind of attitude.

No offense, but this ship is completely sunk for you, zyx. You can't just expect to waltz in here and force us to bend to an outside force. It doesn't work. Charr's will continue to be tagged as cuntboy regardless of your efforts. This same thing has already been settled three times, a fourth time is not going to get you anywhere. I'm sorry, that's just the way it is.

I don't believe "cuntboys" exist. I only believe in male and female. Having underdeveloped breasts does not make you any less female.

Well that's the only other argument to it. There are some females who have pretty much no breasts at all. And I know some characters on here who don't even have nipples just a flat chest and are female, however classified as cuntboys. It's hard to tag this type of gender, but at the same time a cuntboy and a flat chested girl look very similar. So the people who are getting off to these characters should be able to find both.

I'm sorry, but there exist in this world things other than purely male or purely female.
Not even talking about weird furry world, but real life there are hermaphrodites, both of various other species, and even humans.
As well as some species that are asexual.

Belief is meaningless when science and reality directly contradict it.
