They seem to get tagged with wrestling, even though the act of wrestling isn't involved, and when you search for wrestling you also get lots of picture that involve charters wrestling but wearing other types of clothing or no clothing at all. Some also get tagged with wrestler or tank_top

People also seem to tag using either rubber or spandex tag but there is a lot of pictures that don't have anything to do with it such as

Option 2 could be to un-alias singlet from tank_top and use that as well.

Either way it all seems to be really disorganized right now with people using 4-5 different tags and nothing uniform so I think something should be done, and I'm pretty sure that "sexy wrestling singlets" are a thing and people maybe searching for them.

Thoughts?

No, I'm pretty sure that's a sling_bikini. A lot less fabric on those things, covers less too.

I'd say the defining difference between the two is whether or not it has any parts that cover the legs, such as one-piece_swimsuit or sling_bikini

If characters are wrestling while wearing those they would get the wrestling tag and and the appropriate attire tag, which could be as this example post #30069 a speedo as well.

Question, could the tag just be "singlet"? Is the "Wrestling_" part really necessary?

It could be, but right now it's aliased to tank_top so I'm guessing people have used that a lot to tag tanktops.

wresting_singlet could be the actual tag and have singlet be aliased to it for easy tagging, but the flip side again you might get a lot of tank_tops with the tag as well and people would still tag solo poses with wrestling because they don't see a tag to describe the outfit due to singlet being used for tank tops.

I think wrestling_singlet is alright as it's just as descriptive and not as long to type as one-piece_swimsuit

I guess another thing to bring up is to do what with the wrestler tag? There's no wiki on it and yet it has about 200 entrees, so is it a valid tag?

If not, I'm guessing most of them could be re-tagged with wrestling as long as actual 'wrestling' is going on in the picture, and deleted from posts like this post #456403 post #414347
To me tagging wrestler or wrestling in those posts is similar tagging swimming or swimmer just because a character is wearing a swimsuit.

The flip side i guess would be that some characters are wrestlers like king_(tekken) but that's going into the territory of tagging what you know and not what you see

spandex also has about 150 entrees in it, so maybe change those to rubber and add it to the alias like latex?

Any thoughts? Would like some more opinions on the matter.
Haven't really heard from staff yet if the new tag is ok or not.

I think "wrestling_singlet" is the best version of the tag. And leave the singlet alias to tanktops alone, because if it was being misused for tagging tank tops in images, then that would just make a tag mess (tank top images ending up in wrestling_singlet because habits won't change even if it looks good on paper to equate all uses of the word "singlet").

"wrestling_singlet" is also a little more clear because just plain "singlet" is slang in parts of britain and australia for a couple different styles of tank tops (exact style meant can vary based on region). But in wrestling communities, "singlet" is just a shortening of the "wrestling singlet" name for that uniform. So when having to make it clear to people from both communities, I think "wrestling_singlet" is a necessary distinction.

Agreed, I also think in some European countries they call tank_top , vests instead as well, I've had to re-tag a few pictures and it's usually the same few people.

That didn't dawn on me until I watched one of those new ep of Top Gear uk where Clarkson says "egg on his vest" at someone wearing a dirty tank top
