Topic: Why does Dickgirl not imply female?

I usually can't sign in on when I'm on here on my phone, and I don't see why I should need both "-female" and "-dickgirl" just to not see any women when I search.

How? It's a female with a dick. It's not intersex

Like I said, it's pretty messy. Dickgirl is technically both a female and not a female.

You ever see the stripper scene in The Hangover 2.

It's astonishing what plastic surgery and breast implants can do to a man.

If they have a penis, they're male. If they have a vagina, they're a female, simple as that. Having breasts doesn't make them a female.

The way I see it, if someone can have a penis without being a male then it isn't always a male reproductive organ.

I'm not talking about real world applications, for the sake of reputation that's a can of worms I REALLY don't care to open. But for art, or rather tagging wise, I think it's safe to judge a character's gender based on their genitals, and not their other features or "what they see themselves as."

I mean if we're talking about futa, or characters who are already established as female, but in that one instance have a penis, that's a different story.

Actually, according to basic biology, it is correct. We are either a male or female at birth due to our reproductive organs. I'm tired of this notion that we are supposed to believe that "Whatever you think you are, you are that thing." Doesn't matter if you cut off your dick, stitch up your vag or do whatever to your body or identify yourself. You had a dick at birth? Male. You had a vag at birth? Female. Call me whatever the fack you call people that don't agree with you (anything with -phobic basically), it still doesn't deny the fact that even though people change their bodies when older, they are still what they were at birth.

What if a person is born with both sets of reproductive organs?

Updated by anonymous

More accurately, why is it not a good enough answer that dickgirl implies intersex and intersex by definition excludes the possibility of the character being tagged female?

Updated by anonymous

The female tag generally refers to characters exclusively with female genitalia, and the male tag refers to those exclusively with male genitalia.

In order to avoid serious mass confusion, dickgirls, herms, and cuntboys have all been separated from those tags. It's not intended as discriminatory, it's just for clarity and to make blacklists and searches a little less hectic and more coherent.

did you know that intersex people exist. their genitals are something between penis and vagina. also people with unusual combinations Y and/or X chromosomes exist too (XXX, XXY XYY).biological sex is not a strict binary. it is possible to not be biologically male or female. also a person who identifies as woman is a woman no matter what is between their legs.

Updated by anonymous

but anyways here dickgirl does not imply female because the tags are not describing their gender. they are describing their physical aspects so it would be easier for people to search and blaklist specific things. on this site female tag is reserved for characters who have breasts and vagina while dickgirl is for characters with breasts and penis

Did you know that I acknowledged intersex a few posts before yours? Also, if I identified myself as a sandwich, would everyone say that I'm a sandwich when they see me? No. Let's say a person has the dick and balls but no boobs, no vag or ovaries, but identifies personally as a girl, will people automatically think that that's a girl if all they see is the physical part of that person? No. They will think that that is a male until said person tells them what they identify as. Even so, he would still be a biological male

Please, let's refrain from starting (or continuing) a forum war about physical sex and gender identity. I don't think it would contribute much more to the discussion than it already did.

As for the original problem... @Throwaway1739: Did you know that you can actually use a blacklist even if you're not logged in?

All these stupid discussions transpeople will completely vanish as soon as we're able to change them down to the genetic level.

Like, good luck arguing that someone whose genetic makeup got changed from male to female is still male.

Which raises the question; if breasts don't make a female, why do Charr females keep coming under fire and get constantly mistagged as "cuntboy". OP would have to search -female -dickgirl AND -cuntboy to truly stop getting "female" characters since Charr are consistently mistagged as such.

Kay! Even if you could.. how could we do it simple way? ... perhaps destroy Y chromosome in every cell using a virus (making person single X female) (note that even if females have two X chromosomes, one is disabled. So females with only one X chromosome don't have any negative effects)
Even so, genetics are there to "show how to build stuff" (thats a wrong way to put it, but whatever) and will have only limited effect when stuff is Already built.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/revealed-scientists-edit-dna-to-correct-adult-genes-and-cure-diseases-9273555.html

It's quite some time away to be useful, but we're slowly getting there.

aurel said:
Even if you would replace your genetics, there are still glands which pump out male specific hormones, and genetics will probably not touch already built glands. Meaning, still male.
Glands are more important than genetics. "3d printing" organs from stem cells would bring us closer to that goal, but in this case you would need to replace half the endocrine system. In this case, it would be trickier to argue.

Cancer can already grow teeth, nails, and sometimes eyes on testicular cancer, it'll only be a matter of time until we can use things like that to change and regrow glands based on a new, projected genetic makeup
Or simply grow entire organs.

aurel said:
However, even then, tracks will remain... the body structure (if you began it while being older than 25) would still need significant surgery, and in the end, there would still be things we could not alter (overall size, height, brain structure (whatever that means)) (only time could).

There is a reason why transgendered people are urged to get it dealt with as early in their lives as possible. In early life body is built. Once thats done.. well "Easier to make a new one, than to fix an old one"
Full transition (without anyone being able to tell the difference), may be impossible, regardless of technology level.

Well, bone structure is going to be the biggest issue, I have no idea what it would take to fix all that, but if we manage to figure out the above in 4 or 5 decades we may have an answer for this as well. As for the brain, as soon as the glands are out of the picture the only interesting parts left are memories, which is not something that would require editing from the outside, it'll adapt to the "new" body sooner than later on it's own.

At least, that's my take on it, it'll definitely take a shit ton of time and money, but it'll more than likely possible one day. A hundred years ago nobody believed we would be able to fly, now we have planes connecting the entirety of the world with each other on a strict timetable and we sent people into space and on the moon.

Why not just blacklist them both? It takes like 15 seconds and makes more sense than ruining the current gender tagging system.

Also, as I've been told. the ability to see red is on the X chromosome, so some women can see the color red better than men. I haven't heavily researched that, so take that with a grain of salt.

Your body isn't a constant thing though, you form a new skeleton every like 8 years, your skin is regenerating all the goddamn time as well.

Would probably have to transfer/make ovaries though(as you said), since gonads have already differentiated.

Anything we can say on the topic though is really just speculation.

Hah, you think a person's genes matching their gender is going to end this discussion when it doesn't even end it now...

The problem is gender isn't what people think it is. It isn't sex. It's something incredibly more complicated.

The problem is it goes against what people learn about gender in their childhood. They learn about gender based on reference of their own bodies against somebody else's. They look at their own penis/vagina and look at other boys/girls and figure out what they have that they don't have. People want to cling to this childhood understanding that only boys have pee-pees, and girls have holes, because it's comforting and simplistic. But it's incredibly immature and not even remotely correct when you start looking at biology as a whole.

Really? Cause when you look at biology as a whole it's actually that simple. It doesn't matter if say, you have a penis, but were born with abnormal levels of estrogen, you still have a penis, and therefore are a male. It doesn't matter that "you feel like a female."

Then it's just your opinion. But if you care so little about it, you must not care about your own gender either, so you shouldn't really be concerned with what other people are called or what they call themselves either, or even what you are called. Otherwise you're just sticking your nose into someone's business because you can.

Actually, what is the difference between Gender and Sex, then? In your own words. Need to make sure you're not just bullshitting on this.

When said people make that issue a "big deal" and seem to push for others to accept their way of thinking, then yes, it become's everyone's business. Note that I mean in a general sense, and not specifically right here.

Sex refers to your reproductive system and functions, and gender to the characteristics of a person. And for the 4th time now, it doesn't matter what you think or feel you are. Gender wise you can think you're whatever the hell you want, but in the end if you have a penis and balls, you're a male. If you have a vagina and ovaries, you're a female. The only exceptions are hermaphrodites(intersex, whatever), or people born with another form of unnatural condition.

Who is making a "big deal" out of what? Stop being so vague. Who is forcing you accept what way of thinking? You said you think gender is meaningless, which means you personally don't care about your own or somebody else's. But that doesn't mean it's going to stop existing because you don't care about it.

Your concept of sex/gender is pretty flawed and not concise. Sex is determined by your chromosomes, so you could have a male set of sex chromosomes (XY) but your gender can be different from this for all kinds of reasons. Gender is a separate perception, either about someone else or ourselves, and while you personally think it doesn't matter, it does matter to the rest of world a lot.

Brain's aren't inherently hardwired for specific sexes. The only way something like that can happen is with either high levels of estrogen in a male, or high levels of testosterone in a female. And even then, I refer you to my previous points.

You seem to have a very poor understanding of how our brain neurology develops from birth based on our sex genes and hormones, not to mention what the purposes of those different hormones actually are. Men are not all just made from testosterone, and women are not all just made from estrogen. Both sexes have different levels of BOTH of these hormones in their body at any given time and their bodies react to them differently based on their chromosomes.

Well to be completely honest, if you're not at least accepting the primary basis of gender vs sex in the "gender movement" (whoever that is) you're kind of being a moron clinging to early childhood ideas of gender. If you don't care about your own gender, that's fine, but then why would you care about anyone else's?

Our definitions were very different, yours was essentially wrong: You said sex was determined by sex organs, not sex chromosomes. And you also said gender "could be whatever the hell you want" but actually it can't be since it isn't something that is just decided on a whim, it is formed based on perceptions.

Ya know you seem to have a lot of rebuttals for everything everyone else says, but 9/10 they never seem to go past "you're wrong." Obviously both sexes have both hormones, which why I said "high" levels of said hormones that aren't normally at those levels.

Because on boring afternoons issues like this make for great time wasters, especially when you get that one person who blows things out of proportion. At the end of the day I could really care less about all of this, you can identify as a omnisexual houseplant for all I care.

Nope, you're wrong still. The female body doesn't react to "high" levels of testosterone like a male body does because of the different sex genes, and in fact women sometimes end up having high levels of it during development but don't suddenly become boys, because their bodies don't react to it the same way. With males, estrogen is actually pretty much essential, but the testosterone levels at one point begin to rise above those and this signals their adult development.
