Topic: comic copyright tags

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Probably not, but I've found it to be a convenient (albeit arbitrary) place to put it if there happens to already be a tag for that particular pool (I know I've done at least a couple times in the past) but at the moment it seems to serve mixed purposes. I don't know that there's ever really been any rules on how to use them.

This is assuming you don't mean removing the tag entirely, in which case I'd take a look at forum #141596.

Edit: Another alternative if the tag happens to be similar to another tag is to use name_(comic) or the like to differentiate it. (mentioned previously in forum #152342)

Yes they do, for now. The reason is because the Pools search is kinda crap, so having a copyright tag for the comic in addition to the pool itself is viewed as necessary to keep things more easily searchable. So comics do need a tag as well as a pool, and making the comic name tag a copyright type fits better than as a general tag would. When pool searching is improved, we can see about deleting the extra comic name tags, but in the meantime we need them.

However, any that are named ambiguously can be clarified with a *_(comic) suffix, in order to keep it separate from a regular tag, especially if the comic name sounds like a normal tag and is likely to get used for something other than the comic.
