Do we have a tag for the use of game interface? The only thing I could find was health_bar but there's like pokemon battle dialogue (or however you call the "X HAS USED Y" stuff), dialogue prompts, game menus etc.

Those are tagged as the somewhat obscure gui (Graphical User Interface).

Is GUI an obscure term? I thought it was fairly common.

It's a common term to me, like the others said, but I didn't know it was a tag.

It's not even slightly obscure, it's extremely mainstream.. for applications. For games, HUD is the more common term. GUI is the most literal/general term, which is probably why it was chosen.
Aliasing hud (and maybe osd) to gui seems like it might be a good idea.

That, and HUD was meant for transparent head-up displays.
Such as these:

Also includes ones that are projected on vehicle windshield, etc. Such as post #295099.
If we can find a better tag for those, I suppose hud could be aliased to gui.

Makes sense -- I didn't know we actually had a tag for that.
Makes me wonder if we have a tag for terminal -- doesn't look like it; we definitely have more than one picture showing terminals / terminal emulators.
EDIT: Just spotted: head-up_display and heads_up_display should be aliased to hud; as well as game_console, gameconsole and gaming_console to console

Not entirely sure how accurate this other tag is but seems like many of those types of things get tagged as screen/screens, I think because people weren't sure how else to tag them.
