Hm, we have the animal_humanoid tag
What about a plant_humanoid tag?
Venusaur and other similar plant-animals would probably still only count as flora-fauna though
If we do this the humanoid tag can be implicated to the relevant ones
animal_humanoid -> humanoid
plant_humanoid -> humanoid

Wait a minute, isn't an Alraune supposed to be a flower with the upper half of a human(oid) body out of the blossom, sort of like a taur but with flowers instead of animals? How did images like post #732780 get tagged as it?

Because the general public doesn't know that the traditional term for alraune describes
Which is why I suggested plant_humanoid

Can we define Alraune as "The upper half of a humanoid or anthro form emerging from a flower's bloom" and Mandragora as the humanoids with obvious plant features that don't fit into the Alraune category?

That'd over-complicate it.
Flora_fauna is currently applied to any form, and usually combined with other tags (such as flora_fauna + humanoid for those monster girls). Which works fine.
If someone objects to calling those fauna ('animal'), then I suppose we could rename it to plant_creature. Though I kind of like the sound of 'flora fauna', it's easy to remember.

Did a bit of looking into it, apparently the reason for some Mandragora being tagged as Alraune was a character by that name who happened to be a Mandragora.

Alraune is German for mandrake (lat. Mandragora), and has been depicted in various forms. As far as I know, that 'humanoid torso on flower'-look was popularized only recently, by the Monster Girl genre.
Which does make those tags pretty problematic to tag by twys. I suppose we could tag Alraune for the monster girl type, and Mandragora for the more traditional look...

There were Alraunes in Castlevania, too.

How do you blacklist/find humanoid flora-fauna but not animal ones? Or vice-versa?

flora-fauna is pretty catchy, and aesthetically symmetrical, agreed

or -humanoid flora_fauna for either which way of blacklisting them.

that also blacklists all non-plant humanoids appearing with flora_fauna

I understand where Genjar is coming from though. It doesn't really make much from a maintainance perspective to have two separate tags for a relatively-unpopulated tag
Maybe later in the future when it gets bigger
edit: never mind, this tag has >2000 posts so far, and probably more untagged as well
On a side note, I tried searching the flora_fauna tag alone for animal-plant humanoids, and..well, go try for yourself

See the top of forum #185024 for more related info about that
