Topic: How much is there user registered?

Posted under General

More accounts? There's 1 for every 4 posts. That's ridiculously high.

I was kind of shocked by 'registrations per day' : 66. Who are these people? That's equally ridiculous.
(that said, median registrations per day would probably be MUCH more informative. Average can get really skewed from events where e621 suddenly gets a lot of publicity and users flow in)

The fact that 12% of posts are deleted is also remarkable (unless these include posts that simply weren't approved)

It does and deleted != destroyed

and how many of that load of users actually ever do anything?

1-in-2,000, if the Privileged to user ratio is to be considered.

I'm aware that deleted != destroyed (the latter being mainly based on strict legal requirement, as opposed to deletion's DNP removals, inferior version etc).
It's disappointing that it it includes not-approved posts. Would be interesting to know what percentage of posts are uploaded and initially approved, only to be later deleted.

Surprised me. Didn't realized how privileged we are. :P

We're not the 1%, or even the 0.1%. We're the 0.05%. Privilege: ✓

But saying one in 2k users actually do anything is unfair. There are quite a few users that fall in the "why is this person not privileged" category, but setting those aside, I'm pretty sure that most users at least do something useful (upload a few images/fix a few tags (even if they only do it when bad tagging manages to actively annoy them)).

I'd like to think I've contributed my fair share to the amount of comments the site has.

As for all things tag related, shrug, I'm often beaten to the punch or don't quite notice right away or think of certain things that would serve as additional things to go into something. Not a very active thought of mine, not now anyway.

Out of 190,000 accounts, many are alts or users that left after 5 minutes.

I see the same few hundred or so active accounts posting around here.

I bet lepep made 1,000 accounts alone.

A stat to add would be # of user accounts that logged in the last 12 months or 1 month.

Can we get an administrator to state how many known accounts lepep actually made?

Telling how you catch/stop someone only helps them find ways around your methods. :P

Looking at that stats page made no sense for some of them, like millions of users, and they're NOT bots posting spam. Are they lurkers who just wanted to get around blacklist? Requirement for API on Android clients?

The members stat counts unactivated users, so it's closer to 1.3 million users. Then take into consideration some peeps might just make an account and bugger off, or just view a couple images, comment a few words, and forget about it.

I'm surprised to see there's almost equally as many PNG uploads as JPEG. I would have expected a significantly greater weight of JPEG files.
Also I'm kinda surprised the total file size is only 6.64TB.

Suggestion: Total filesize of all database tables.

Cool stats that surprised me the most:
- 41% of all posts on the site are rated non-explicit
- There are more posts rated Safe than Questionable
- Over1 million total tags and counting
