Topic: Tag Implication: glaucus_atlanticus -> sea_slug

Interesting that you brought this up, I was looking into this just the other day but decided to postpone it a bit.

I especially looked at the nudibranch clade and the glaucus genus. The nudibranchs are a bit tricky to classify at a glance as they have shells in their larval stage, but I guess they belong with the slugs more than the snails for obvious reasons.

How they are classified (sort of)
What we could do
  • gastropod
    • snail
      • sea_snail (?)
    • slug
      • sea_slug (see forum #172894)
        • nudibranch
          • glaucus
            • glaucus_atlanticus
            • (glaucus_marginatus) (next most common species)

And maybe use mollusk/mollusc as root, but that probably wouldn't be very beneficial...

Not sure if people would actually be able to differentiate the different glaucus species either, so might just be easier to alias:

  • glaucus_atlanticus -> glaucus
  • glaucus_marginatus -> glaucus
