Svats? Why is that even a tag? Aren't we supposed to use the biggest and highest resolution image, which would be the source?

Sometimes, people commission pics and upload a big version to e621, but there's only a small version on the artist's website.

okay wait, I thought this was to shortcut with finding the bigger version. Smaller version tag should not need to be tagged

...So if the source image isn't the same image but is the only image available to source because a larger version was uploaded directly by the commissioner, it shouldn't be noted? That doesn't make much sense to me.

In what case would it be useful to know that the only other version outside of our site is a smaller one?

If someone tries to upload a copy of the source saying it's better quality/real image, etc. Can check at a glance that the svats tag is there to determine if that's true or not.
