no matter how hard I try to slough off my interest in other men it always jumps right back to the front of my brain

i wish there was a conversion therapy that worked

1.5 bottle of excellent Domaine de Chaberton Bacchus in, I have gotta say: Captain America: the Winter Soldier is just too damned comic-book-ey

(Steve Rogers [and Bucky] just do not run that goddamned fast)

@Sharp_Coyote: even my airguns with an integral suppressor aren't that quiet, there's just less of a crack to it.

Although I find that nunchucks being so regulated is even more absurd. Like there's a bunch of Bruce Lee's out there.

@Sharp_Coyote: I imagine it's because of fantasy nonsense, take kamimatsu there as an example. That's why.

You and I, and pretty much anyone actually familiar with firearms knows suppressors make for a reduction in the acoustic report of a firearm, as well as reduced flash and muzzle rise. They are not quiet; at best they make firearms a little more comfortable to fire, particularly @ an indoor range. The average suppressor with std. ammunition will take, what, 30 dB from a a gunshot, leaving a report of somewhere in the neighbourhood of 130 dB? That will still leave a person freaking deaf without adequate protection.

(I also do not know what kamimatsu blipped in response earlier, as they have been on my blocklist for some time now)

@kamimatsu: real life is different, they only reduce the decibels marginally at the cost of sacrificing concealabiliy.
When I tried one my accuracy greatly improved due to the extra weight counteracting the recoil and it was more comfortable with the reduced noise. Another benefit is if it's dark my vision won't be affected by the muzzle flash.
However this isn't the place for this debate so I'll stop here.

@French_Fried: as far as I'm aware suppressors are legal, there's just a lot of forms and an expensive tax stamp involved that I can't be bothered with.

@Sharp_Coyote: I imagine it's because of fantasy nonsense, take kamimatsu there as an example. That's why.

I have never understood why lawmakers have such hardons for banning suppressors ... even suppressed, guns are still hella loud, just not leave you with permanent ear damage loud. The teensy *poot*poot* you hear in film and television is fantasy nonsense :|

EDIT

Makes me want to submit an alias here on e6 from silencer -> suppressor. Nuttin' 'silent' about it.

because why do you need one? the only reason you could eve rwant one is because the person you are plannign to kill in cold blood isnt enough of a threat for you to do it in self defense. you only ever want it if you are exclusively planning cold blood. and while ive got nothing against cold blood, the least people could do is not pretend they dont agree with me. especially when you already know they were never a threat. if they were, you wouldnt need to hide. especially in a way that guarantees youll hit an innocent third party instead

@Doomguy666: I won't bother with a suppressor anytime soon but I do want a compensator.

Aw fucking fuck my new pistol barrel is lost somewhere.
The lying mailman said it was signed for and then put it in a random mail box. I paid extra for this exact situation to not happen, I waited months to get a pre order on that barrel.

@Sharp_Coyote: good lord, you're still laid off?

Yer, has really only been about 7 weeks now, but feels longer (and will be [at least] a couple weeks more) :(

My company has (3) locations in town, and only (1) so far is getting slowly back to regular hours, and bringing staff back. I am @ the smallest one.

@furballs_dc: interesting thing about the Xbox is the XBMC and it's legacy. It was a free open source media player for the Xbox. Today the XBMC foundation uses its software and some familiar sounds in the Kodi system. A free and open-source media player software app.

Well it looks like I'm going to be drawing again, could test my shitty skills on a character other than Jakku or just do NSFW art of Jakku.
