Character: lycaon of arcadia
King Lycaon of Arcadia is a figure in Ancient Greek Mythology.
In his story, similar to Tantalus, Lycaon attempted to test the omniscience of Zeus by having his son Nyctimus, killed and served to the King of the Gods for dinner. Zeus was able to see through this deception and, disgusted, he turns Lycaon into a wolf and smites the rest of Lycaon's many offspring. He then uses his power to bring Lycaon's dead son Nyctimus back to life.
Lycaon is widely considered one of the first and prototypical Ur-examples of the werewolf.
