Dr. Alto Clef or Dr. 𝄡 is an author and author avatar/self-insert/character in the SCP Foundation.

Dr. Alto Clef is a Level 4 Researcher who holds the Title of Director and has been working at Site-19, the largest Foundation containment site for decades.

Dr. Clef's has several anomalous characteristics: His physical appearance is that of a middle aged man with dirty blonde hair with 3-Eyes: one green eye, one blue eye, and one hazel eye, both of which appear to have pupils which absorb all light falling upon it. He also has a big nose, and a beard. Dr. Clef cannot be photographed. Attempts to photograph him will result in Clef's Face being replaced with that of a random animal or another part of his body. In one case his face became a giant hand flipping the bird. Dr. Clef's third property is his name. His actual name is the sound that you make when playing an Alto Clef Chord on a Ukulele he tends to be unable to understand anything else. His final and most dangerous property is the fact that Dr. Clef is an anomalous reality sink. What this means is that Reality is forced to conform to what is real around him. This allows him to negate alterations to baseline reality at the hands of reality benders, as well as anomalous entities that should not exist within this world.

Dr. Clef's background and history is an enigma, what is known is that he used to be a soldier in United Nations Global Occult Coalition, which preserves normality not through the containment and study of anomalous objects, but the complete destruction of anomalous objects. He was apparently very good at his job but left due to a conflict of interest and came to believe that the Foundation's way was better.

The entity is known to be an inveterate liar regarding all things save SCP-related issues, and thus, should not be trusted by anyone. He is a gun enthusiast, holding a wide collections of shotguns, assault rifles, and handguns. He is also a bit of a pervert and has attempted to date several anomalous objects, including SCP-173. It is heavily implied that SCP-166 is his daughter. Dr. Clef tends to firmly believe in the containment and in some case neutralization of extremely dangerous anomalies especially SCP-239 the most powerful reality bender in the world.
