august (month)
August is the eighth month of the Julian and Gregorian calendars, lasting for 31 days. In the Northern Hemisphere, August is the second full month of summer and in the Southern Hemisphere, the second full month of winter. It is named after Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus, the first Roman emperor. Its birthstones are the peridot, sardonyx, and spinel, and its flowers are the gladiolus and the poppy.
