A taxicab, or "taxi" is a type of vehicle for hire, usually a car or van, with a driver, who transports individual passengers or small groups to their desired destinations for a fee based on how far they are travelling.

Taxicabs typically have a lit "TAXI" sign on their roof, and are usually depicted in a bright yellow, which is a common colour for taxicabs in many parts of the world.
