Runebears are an huge ursine species with runic patterns on its chest in Elden Ring that primarily serves as an obstacle to be snuck around, or fought; ideally putting them to sleep with a critical hit to the head. They can usually be found just going about their lives, scratching a tree, roaming around, fighting wolves, lazily guarding a location, or being disguised as nobles. There is also a nameless field boss simply labeled Runebear, which is made an optional fight by it not being necessary to advance the game.
