Zabrak (/zæb.ɹæk/ or /zɛb.ɹæk/, plural: Zabraks) — a Near-Human carnivorous alien species from the Star Wars franchise.

The Zabraks are a bipedal mammalian species from the Mid Rim and Outer Rim. Considered one of the the most independent species in the Galaxy, are often described as a proud, self-determined people, but may be seen as arrogant or downright savage to some.

Zabraks are mostly distinguishable from humans by the presence of several small horns around the circumference of the head, growing out from the skull. Zabrak skin tones and hair colors vary widely (only some of which are possible in humans) and possess faint markings mostly on their faces. A hardy species, Zabraks possess two hearts to pump oxygenated blood around their systems more quickly than other species, and are noted for a resistance to physical pain.

Most Zabraks possess tattoos, a prominence of the species' culture, which could dominate a Zabrak's face or even the entirety of their body. These tattoos can represent numerous things including family lineage; place of birth; or even a design that reflected their individual personalities, and often incorporates any of the individual's natural markings as a guideline.

Zabraks have two subspecies:

Iridonian

Iridonians are the original subspecies, from the Zabrak homeworld of Iridonia, an arid planet in the Glythe sector of the Mid Rim considered brutal and unforgiving by Zabraks.

Both male and female Iridonians have horns growing from their skulls, and can grow hair from the scalp around them. Their skin tones vary in color; often pale, tan, or dark enough to be mistaken for humans, but sometimes can be more unusual shades such as blue or orange.

Dathomirian

Dathomirians are the derivative subspecies, evolved on the Zabrak colony of Dathomir, a remote planet in the Quelii sector of the Outer Rim overrun with vegetation, forests, and swamplands. According to Legends, they arose from crossbreeding between Iridonians and Humans.

Sexual dimorphism is readily apparent in Dathomirian Zabraks. The females are generally paler, having white; grey; or even blue skin, while the males are usually peach; yellow; and rarely, red. While males cannot grow hair like the females, they possess horns, which are entirely absent in the females.
