When the distinct shape of something or someone, not just the general outline or an indistinct bulge, can be seen pushing through an opaque membrane of any kind, usually skin, but possibly clothes as well.

Overwhelmingly, imprints are seen in vore to highlight the presence of a trapped or struggling character inside of the body of another. However, imprints may be present in object ingestion, object insertion/cavity storage, hyper pregnancy, tentacle sex, in scenes where a character is inside the clothing of another — particularly when they are entirely trapped inside.
