MemberBecause comparing one stupid person to an entire religion just proves your point so well.
No wait.
Mantikor
MemberThis is even truer if your replace "Islam" with "Obama".
Seppfox
MemberThe author just didn't put enough research into finding an Islam leader.

MemberIt's okay to satirize a stupid person...but a backwards-ass religion that advocates killing and deceit? Oh, noes.

MemberBecause there is none. It's not like the catholic church that has a pope.

MemberI believe you'll find that the adjective form of 'Islam' is 'Islamic.'
Demetri Shadow
MemberThe same could be said for the catholic faith in that they went on a crusade around Europe Killing in the name of God...

Memberitt: People don't get it.

MemberThe audience is the same in both panels. What the artist is trying to portray is that many people will laugh at a poster that ridicules a figure of power be it former or current, yet when it comes to religion or other ideals that contradict the balance of morals- they rage.
When "For the Luls" fails, because people can't and often don't want to look at it from different points of view.

MemberI think it's hilarious how people are still talking about the crusades like it's relevant to Christianity.
Ezalias
MemberI suspect it's more about the ape comparison, acai. In any case I'll defend it against dolts like AG-Wolf who think this is pointing out some deep hypocrisy: Bush looks and acts somewhat like a monkey. Obama doesn't. Most Muslims don't.
Seriously, go back and look at W. Listen to him stumble through speeches. Watch him get buddy-buddy with world leaders. It doesn't take much exaggeration to suggest his appearance and behavior fall short of human physique and intelligence. The man failed to operate a Segway, for Christ's sake!
Compare this with Obama: he acts and speaks like an educated politician instead of a frat boy. He doesn't flub sentences, he doesn't swallow without chewing, he doesn't molest German chancellors. I can't see any reason to make Obama / monkey comparisons except racism, unless the far right is so uncreative that they'll steal the left's photoshop templates just to say "no, you!" (Actually that would neatly explain the Obama / Hitler posters. Hitler was an authoritarian with a legally questionable rise to power who tortured his enemies in secret prisons. Shouldn't Obama 'shops be Castro?)
Muslim / ape comparisons are even worse. It's a shitty religion, but shitty religions are entirely within the realm of human problems. The political response to Muslim immigration in e.g. Switzerland has been overt racism. You can't just compare your political opponents to random animals, people - it has to make sense to stick. There's no animal that represents theocracy.
CalicoRoadkill
MemberYes because saying stop Bush, a single person who's actions, beliefs and words are well known and therefore can be pretty well objectively judge is the exact same as saying stop Islam, a nearly 2 thousand year old religion with over a billion followers of varying amounts of faith in the religion and moral character.
Battle Fennec
MemberNot to mention the politicians in Washington always pins terrorism on Islam as a whole. Sure, there's a few radical movements within the Islamic religion, but they keep on making up stories about their religion being the cause of terrorism.
A lot of people don't know or understand how it came to be since then, considering how the US supplied and instigated conflicts in the Middle East long before 9/11 happened, or even the 1993 bombing of the WTC. Ever since 9/11, Islam has been the target and victim of several countries, and even if you're not Muslim, but if you're Middle Eastern, you'll still get attacked by racial, if not, political attacks.
Yet a lot of people rage on when I, and others that say the same after a proper research, explain that terror attacks don't happen just because of religious ideals, or because of our freedoms and power. They attack us because of how we treat them, and assault them. We belittle them, as a whole people, by supporting the US's support in Israel's genocide of Palestine, where the anger from Islamic countries and non-Islamic Middle Eastern countries come from.
But seriously, this is gonna be tl;dr, so I'll stop and suggest you study a little more about the tensions between the US and Middle East, and how Islam is also a religion spreadout through many countries that aren't Middle-Eastern. And study how their religion really works, because a lot of people just take things out of context and pin themselves as bigots. So yeah, if you researched more about them and their history with the US, all this drama-llama wouldn't have happened.

Blockedok, the gassing of 6 million jews, and the 2 nukes thats hit japen, that moden enough for ya?

MemberOdd comparison, imo.
Battle Fennec
MemberUSA and Germany were christian nations, by a majority.
Hitler was Christian and hated jews. The USA hated the axis because of the war and the Pearl Harbor attacks, hence the Japanese-Americans being in concentration camps after Pearl Harbor, and the bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima.
Really, no odd comparison here, just Christians doing what they like to do: Genocide.

Blockedi think its funny how obama has yet to show us a valid birth certificate. and he went to a college for foreign students, on a grant only offered to foreign students. Thats just plain unconstitutional. plus he makes a pretty shitty leader. john Mcain would have made a better leader. of course he had a whole different set of problems. but im just going with the lesser of the two evils. omama is one big ass mistake. everyone will either realize that when he fucks up big, or (and as the more preferable outcome) he will just fade into history as another minor fuck up like the last few presidents. or it's possible that i could be completely wrong and he stops digging america a big ass hole with the damned changes he's making. but it doesn't look like thats a viable outcome at the moment. i would end this by saying that this is “just my oppinion” but there are quite a few people who are willing to agree with me and offer further evidence\oppinionated theories and etc...

MemberHitler was more of a 'corrupted Christian', I suppose he just wanted to make all the killing look like it's right, because when you think of Christians, you think of a list of rules and purity. The Marines were just doing what they do best: Killing everything in sight, because that gives God a hard-on.

MemberActually he was a rather decent president. Not top five, certainly not bottom five. So he had a problem speaking. other then that, he was an effective leader and communicator. shit just went tits up while he was in office because at the time he did what any leader does, whats right for the country at the time and what will get him re elected.
you can certainly say Obama can speak, but he can hardly act with how the US is going in its current state.

BlockedSeriously, Islam is fucked up, and so are a majority of its followers. Get the cunts out of Europe, out of power, criticize them, end their growing influence on the civilized world via leftist cucktards who shout racism and islamophobia at the slightest mention of how ridiculously violent and anti-western these theocracy loving bastards are, and end their reign of terror via theocracies in the Middle East.
Hail Satan.
