  • Correction. That is not a Jackal. It's a Skirmisher from Reach and Infinite. Jackals have spines on their head, not plumage. Just saying.

    Good animation though.

Jackal is just the human nickname for all Kig-Yar. The game makes a distinction in nickname because they are different in how they act, by referring to skirmishers as skirmishers, but they'd technically be jackal skirmishers. In Reach, the skirmishers are the T'vaoan subspecies. In infinite, it is a sisterhood of female Ruuhtians that fight alongside standard jackal Ruuhtians aka the shield bros. In halo 4 and 5, the jackals were Ibie'shan.

Imagine being so envious of a genetically superior offshoot that you take up their name and garb... I guess I know how neanderthals musta felt when modern human bonked him in the head.

Infinite skirmishers shouldn't be called that, just confuses people with Tvaoan, the real Skirmishers.

Huh. The more you know, I guess. I knew about the T'vaoan subspecies, which lived on a separate planet from all the other Kig-Yar iirc, being in Reach, and I thought they were also in Infinite because that is what they looked like.

Look really close and you'll see the same yellow skin and beak structure as the shield jackals, and they have hair instead of feathers like T'vaoans.

Leave it as it is because it features a t'vaoan, which are the grey skinned bony beaked ones.
