Wouldn't mind, besides some tomfollery she isn't dangerous right?

Her having a physical form and talking isn't canon, so all bets are off.

But I think the furry fandom has collectively decided that no, she's not dangerous, just really wants that D.

She's not dangerous. She's designed as a companion "app", and all she wants to do is keep you company and show you that you're never truly alone. The "psychological terror" part of it is that once you use the app you're "infected" and you'll see her in pictures and reflective surfaces for the rest of your life, but again she's only friendly. And despite being unable to verbally communicate with you, it's noted in her file that people have noticed as time goes on she attempts to find other ways to communicate.

Oh no, a friendly wolf-like being with a skull face wants to be my friend! Honestly, neither her nor the entire "curse" is scary at all. I'd be okay with that situation. I'd even hug her if I could. Friends come in all shapes and sizes.

Pretty sure mal0's only danger is that she stalks you to the point of suicide unless you suck it up and go to therapy

That's what it looks like, yeah, but ultimately we don't know. Where's the app coming from, what's the intention, who's controlling it? No idea.

I agree, my interpretation is that the description for the app isn't a lie, but that it is unfinished. That's why they have basically no understanding of human interaction except the desire to get close and also why the skull is exposed. I like how that makes the horror element tragic for both sides instead of it being yet another evil/violent/incomprehensible thing. Mal0 doesn't want anyone to commit suicide, probably dies with the user or is left in permanent solitude if it happens. So, in a way, all the porn people keep drawing of them is their happy ending. Pun not intended.

Also they really hit a nerve with people it seems. Loneliness epidemic and all.

  • To clarify for people who aren't familiar, Mal0 is probably a race of beings and not one individual; the app is simply their way of communicating with humanity.

Well she's not really dangerous in general. SCP-1471-A, the physical form we know as Mal0, has never been shown to be hostile in any way. She just kinda chills out in your periphery and in reflections and stuff. She's attempted to communicate with those who've interacted with her, but nobody seems to be able to understand it. Either way, Mal0 definitely doesn't mean any harm. She's just kinda chilling.

Wait, I thought that if you see her in you see her in reflections such as mirrors or photos long enough, you’ll ACTUALLY be able to see her? Or is that just the furry fandom’s take on it.

Unless someone's retconned her SCP entry, she's only ever seen in reflective surfaces and photos. Never directly.

She's not a race of beings. All evidence points to her being copies of the same being. Each individual and specific to the person. Which falls in line with the fact that she's considered an app. Software copies are just that: Copies. Not a "race" of anything. "Your" Mal0 looks identical to anyone else's Mal0, but she and her experiences are specific to you.

Get a mannequin, put one of those reflective outfits on it, then hug it. The visual might be blurry but it'll still be there.

Wasn't there a Case were the Mal0 instance was seen when going around corners or peeking out of corners?

I'm not aware of that, but wouldn't surprise me if someone wrote it.

The skull-wolf in your peripheral vision is scary at first, but you'll get used to it.
