Description

Behind the Scenes of the Red Lantern shoot. In this modern AU, there are a few things of note. Honestly I have put FAR TOO MUCH thought into this, like way more than I am comfortable admitting. But here's a snippet of some of the juicy details going on at the Red Lantern set.

- Luther's actor is a middle-aged, retired athlete turned model turned actor. He's pretty much a one-character actor, but that one character was perfect for this role, and he's known for being very laid-back and professional on the set, so the director and most everyone involved in shooting is happy with the casting choice. The only hiccup is, he's oldschool and doesn't do a lot of social media, and refuses to hire someone to do it for him, so he's been getting a lot of help from-

- Grayson's actor is, by all accounts, far too young and inexperienced for such a big part. But there's no denying his natural charisma, and he's become such a scene-stealer, there are talks they've gone beyond expanding his role to even considering a spinoff for him at this point. A fan favorite, he knows how to work a crowd, and tends to dominate the headlines. He's also fond of improving his lines, which sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, but leads to a lot of re-shoots either way when the other cast members can't keep a straight face. He also once knocked over a piece of scenery that nearly injured Luther's actor, which is what led ironically to the two men getting closer over an apologetic lunch, and now-

- Luther's actor and Grayson's actor started dating midway through filming. Yes, it HAS been problematic for shooting, and yes, it quickly leaked out through someone on set recording them secretly. They didn't bother to deny it after that, and now Grayson hangs around on set even on days he isn't shooting, so he can bother his boyfriend, and generally cost the studio a lot of time and money. Luther's actor has done nothing to deter his young, overeager boyfriend from hanging around, which has caused rising tensions between the two of them and-

- Amon's actor is an experienced, award-winning character actor who is probably too big a name for this production, but was enamored enough by the role to accept it. He took time away from his Indie personal project for this, and he is NOT about to be upstaged by a fucking amateur wolf who he's pretty sure only got hired because he delivered food for the Craft Services table one day. Speaking of-

- Puck's actor primarily did commercials before this, for fur shampoo. It's a mystery why he was chosen for his role, although it's been circulated that he just REALLY nailed his audition. He is generally well-liked except by his fur and makeup team, who have to spend 4 hours applying his markings every shoot. He was asked if he could gain a little weight for the role, and in an interview he remarked, "It was a relief, honestly. Usually, to get work I have to diet. Now, I can actually eat!"

For more Behind-The-Scenes details from Red Lantern, stay tuned. I might throw this on a future poll, so if you'd like more from this ridiculous AU, you'll have a chance to vote for it ; )
