MemberImiss Gaia... Sad what happened to its economy.
DarkMachinations
MemberI mean gaia online still exists, economy sucks aye, but it still fulfills its purpose as an rp and discussion webpage.

MemberThis so perfectly captures the mid-2000's that it's actually giving me middle school nostalgia. XD
Is it wrong for me to be nearly 32 and still think the emo look is really cute? Is it even worse for me to still have an MCR t-shirt in my closet and sometimes wear it to bed? Yes, I'd like to think so.
I'm gonna go unironically listen to classic Lacuna Coil and eat pixie stix now. c:
CuriousLeo
MemberNah, emo boys are so cute when done right. I guess girls too if you're into them, but I don't have as much experience there.
Killah Zillah
MemberI promise, I wasn't serious. It would be pretty hypocritical if I *were* actually against it since I was talking about myself there, that's the joke! I don't actually care if anyone thinks out of fashion to still like the emo/goth look. I like what I like, and I'll eat all the fruit flavored sugar I want, dangit! >u<
Also, totally! Like I said, it's such a cute style, like a modern wilting flower (well, not as modern anymore, but still).

MemberI just had about six simultaneous flashbacks. Those were... good? Times?

MemberMaybe more insane than good. The Chatterbox in particular was one of the most insane places online. Few places really compared.
Ahh man, right on... I've still only heard In A Reverie however. Maybe it's time I gave the rest a listen.

MemberHell yeah! But the blue raspberry ones are mine. This is not up for negotiation. c:<
They still rock, for sure! Swamped is my favorite. The music video's effects are very dated, but the music is timeless. <3
I love the lyrics to this one, it always makes me tear up with a smile of relief. To me, it's about giving the middle finger to self imposed pressure; the idea that you have to change who you are before you're allowed to feel pride in yourself. Personal goals are great until they start holding you back from being happy. Destiny is only a concept, tomorrow is simply another day. Let go of your shame and celebrate being the person you are today, rather than waiting until you've met some arbitrary goal.

MemberCame back after ten+ years away, change into some of my more expensive gear for fun. Next day, account hacked, renamed, inventory clearly removed. Been two years, mods doin' nothing despite saying they'll get to it.
Angry nostalgia aside, this is strong 2000s energy.

MemberI'm born in 90s and I never even heard about this game. Did I live under a rock my whole life? Oh, right, it's probably because I got the Internet only in like 2010. Sadge.

MemberNo surprises there, by the 2010s I think Gaia was sorta out of the spotlight as MOBAs started to become the next big thing, though by then I think they were sorta having a ring themed RPG or something of the like so they weren't dead yet.
But yeah, it was pretty much a thing you'd mostly find looking for online RPG games back in ye olde 2000s, sorta like MapleStory, Perfect World, etc.
PolishOnion
MemberThanks for the explanation, better late than never!

MemberOh shit, Gaia Online....those were simpler times. Relatively better times.
