This is the 4th release in my series of digital trading card-inspired illustrations featuring Disney's beloved evildoers and mischief-makers.
It's my goal to paint and redesign my all-time favorite iconic villains from the movies, TV series, theme parks, games, books, and comics as well.

I give you the cute little Dr. Rupert Jacques von Hämsterviel, the main antagonist from Disney's direct-to-video sequel, Stitch! The Movie and the supplementary spin-off TV series Lilo & Stitch: The Series, voiced by Jeff Bennett. :love:

My premise is to add more depth and realism to the characters featured in my villains series by creating detailed textures and designs based on historical references while trying to keep faithful to the shapes and colors from the original character design. Hope this effort will be appreciated out there :aww:

Usually I seek inspiration from source material like books, the basis of most Disney movies, and the period in which it was written. But this time it was different... you see, the entire Lilo & Stitch franchise is 100% Disney, thought up by Chris Sanders.
But in this case it was not a problem at all since von Hämsterviel is a very cartoony character with not much clothes on.

Instead of creating flamboyant textures and pattern for stunning garments like for my previous three illustrations all I had to do was to create a somewhat realistic-looking rodent fur. Painting all those little individual hairs drove me almost nuts. :psychotic:
I've tried to give his cape a silky glossy appearance.
For the brooch featuring his initial I've created a gold-like texture to give the impression that he's a powerful and wealthy persona.

And that's all I can think of to write down... as I've mentioned before, von Hämsterviel is a very simple character.
