Not really, since there's also the physical portal object, which is grosly mistagged (and thus, time to fix!)

Additionally, we need to distinguish between portal (transfer objects from one place to another) and portal (gateway to another dimension). I'm not sure what to call the second type of portal though.

On hindsight, we can probably safely alias portal_2 to portal_(series)

yeah, look at the wiki for portal... that said, the tag's gotten messy again :/ I'll poke at it in a minute, unless someone else wants to.

Portal portals are usually the orange and/or blue holes, with some form of "different area and/or objects going through". The other portals generally don't have the same shape and/or colour. So, the portal fatality in mortal kombat would be classified as portal_(portal) (clearly same shape and colour), while other types of portals aren't. Will give examples in a moment. (edit: ack, misread the thread, getting mixed up between this and my other thread about portals. the gateway and translocation portals should be left alone, on hindsight)

(also, was just poking it when you mentioned it, what coincidence. Poking's done, every portal tagged pic as of current should have a proper portal.)

I don't really thing any distinction is needed between portal series portals and nonportal series portals... if someone wants a 'portal'.. they'll look up portal. if someoen wants portal series images, they'll look up portal series...

that said, we ALSO have a magic circle tag that I suspect isn't used half as much as it ought to be. c_c

also, yay for poking with portals :D
