Topic: Asked by the artist to ask any admin to remove all art by them.

Posted under General

Hi, so recently someone uploaded a picture by an artist called PointedFox and I just got in touch with the artist themselves as they don’t own an e621 account (not that i’m aware of). Anyways I told them about it and they requested for the image to be removed (which is flagged), apparently they are very angry and I asked them if i could ask an admin to have all their art removed from e621 and be listed as DNP which they said yes to. So I was wondering as to how I can make this request for them?

Also apologies if this is in the wrong section, I don’t comment much on the site.

Tell them to request a takedown themselves: https://e621.net/static/takedown. You do not need an account for that.
They can also request DNP status using the same form. That status is only granted if explicitly requested.

e621 does not accept takedown requests from 3rd parties, only from artists and character owners.

Alright will do.

Me again, so the artist just messaged me back and they asked me to send you their contact details so you can reply and help with the request.

First of all, you should probably remove that email address from your message.

Second, they already requested the takedown: https://e621.net/takedowns/12987
Takedowns are usually handled within a day or so.

If they have any further questions, tell them to just DM me on Twitter (@bitWolfy) or on Discord (@bitWolfy#7932)

To think this could all have been avoided if someone just fucking asked first and didnt post private porn

You can always write to them and politely ask if they would allow their non-adult/non-private work to stay here, to be conditional_dnp instead of full DNP.

Pointedfox has a bunch of cute pictures. It'll be sad not to see more of them. We need more cute artwork.

Tis a shame because they will get angry at e6, but not the dozens of other boards who don't respect artists =/

But yeah, this is why approval from new artists is important people

Actually, it's possible that they might not know about any other boards. Hell, pretty much e621 and furaffinity are just about the only ones I know about or have any experience with.

Well the site is sad someone did not ask them first

Wait, why are the details hidden now? Weren't they just along the lines of "I didn't approve of my art being posted here" before it got approved? That seems like a straightforward reason to leave visible so that users know to not debate it with the artist. If they're upset with tags, then if they eventually get changed a user can know to try and contact them then.

Definitely odd for the details to become hidden afterward. Also interesting is that its status is "Partial" rather than "Approved", and only one post (the one non-public piece at issue) was removed instead of all of their art. Perhaps they did change their mind and ultimately only said for that one to be removed, or maybe they're in the midst of discussing or contemplating it still.

Aren't artist-takedowns always hidden now? Or am I just thinking of the post lists always being hidden?

Here's a similarly straightforward example that wasn't hidden, except its status isn't "Partial": takedown #12985

I didn't realize it was partial. Maybe it's to discourage users from quickly saving stuff, since that's kind of a rude thing to do.

That one's completed now, but it's weird that it wasn't hidden yet.
