It is a documentary that explains the history of Furry Fandom, specially from the point of view of important figures like Mark Merlino, Rod O'Raley and Samuel Conway. This documentary won a prize in the Denver Film Festival 2020.

In my opinion, this was a very much needed recount of the deep history of Furry Fandom that is pretty much ignored by most of the furries themselves, specially the younger ones. I myself many years ago fantasized with seen a movie that seriously tell that story, and finally this move made that dream reality, at least partially.

It was made by professional people that worked before in the making of serious documentaries and had a budget of 32,000 USD, that is not much, but at least is something. The result is a well made documentary, that unfortunately tell us just the "version of the victors", with the Burned Furs presented as kind of Nazis that pretended "to kick out gays from the community". I resented that. Besides, although some of them were mentioned or fleetingly shown, it didn't delved more in the history of great people at the start of the Furry, like Steve Gallacci, Roz Gibson or Fred Patten.

It presents the Furry as an artistic movement with humble origins in Science Fiction and Comics conventions, into something that have grown into a subculture that is currently known by a substantial percentage of people that use the Internet, with conventions around the world.

This documentary is more about the thoughts and personalities of a number of furries. The film speaks very frankly about the (at least initially) negative coverage of the Media about the Fandom, but also about how some Furries see in a negative way other furries.

The documentary is mostly a series of interviews with Furries like (not in this order): Boomer The Dog, Freya, Kato, Grix, Diezel Raccoon, Bandit, Skye, Chew Fox, Tom Cat, Varka. So, including people that – for what I have read – has importantly participated or participate in e6.

The first time I saw "Fursonas", I view it as an "innecessary disruptive" recount of some painful issues within a Fandom that is struggling to overcome a negative view from society in general. Now I see both movies, as complementary and very necessary.

Do you have an opinion about them, that you want to share with us?

My guess, is that seeing the increasing quality and recognition that furry documentaries are beginning to have, more is to be expected to be produced in the future. And so I wish.

Ah I remember watching this a few years back, I just love that small segment with Varka just playing with a glob of cumlube in the middle of the interview.

You know, I have a number of sex toys, "regular" sex toys, that I have bought through the years (many years), along with harnesses, and the like. Still surprised they have lasted so long, and in good condition. I didn't imagine that this kind of rubber, or polymer, in some spots very soft, could last that much.

(Except that I carelessly stored together some skin-colored ones besides some "bright" ones ... and they impregnated color to each other =( . Still, you could just imagine that are some bruises after going tough xD )

I think that in time, I will buy some of the “bad dragon" ones. Maybe not for use with my - non furry - partners, but some of them look so artistic, imaginative... just like decoration, they seem interesting to me.
