Open discussion: Is the term "champ" considered an insult? I have someone claiming so that I insulted them by saying the word champ.

i guess it depends entirely on the other percieves it some people dont like being called chief or boss or mate but i dont mind being called these personally but some people just do

it largely depends on context but more often than not, terms like "champ" "bud" etc. are perceived as condescending or patronizing
