@Jakku_NoShi: Practice need not have anything to do with detail. In fact, too much detail can confuse a work because it might prevent a viewer from knowing what they're supposed to look at. Practice is about getting better, discovering your style, refining your technique, improving your portrayal of anatomy, learning how to use the elements and principles of design, and dozens of other things.
There are objective measures by which art can be judged good or bad. Most people don't know have the vocabulary to describe them, but they know it when they see it. If you really want to improve your artwork, then you must practice frequently. If you don't have the discipline to do that, or if you find it hard to understand what makes art better or worse, then consider taking classes at a local community college.
